Telling Each Other the Truth

Author: William Backus

Review

This is a great and easy read.

I’m a confident person. I love to talk and feel comfortable communicating with others. I was shocked to uncover major issues in my communication as I read through this book. It made me realize how ineffective I was at asking for things, expressing my needs, making statements I’m afraid won’t be received well and receiving criticism.

What I loved about this book was that it provided transcripts of conversations showing how people get it wrong, followed by tons of examples of how to get it right. The examples were very relevant and things I deal with regularly. That makes this book not just a bunch of theories but instead very practical. Life changing.

When I like a book, I read it multiple times until I fully obsorb its content. This book is definately going on my re-read stack.
