The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in plain sight. People go about their lives walking near it. They walk on it, around it and under it. But how fortunate we are, if by the Grace of God, we walk through it with an awareness of its constant presence among us.
I finally see it and wonder how I ever missed it. Was it hidden? – No. It must have been moved. – No. How did I look at it … I looked right at it, so many times without ever seeing it??? When I finally came to see it, I saw that it’s simple. There’s nothing complicated or difficult to understand. It’s nothing more than what I knew it to be, all the while being so much more than I ever imagined.
For years I struggled with my Christianity and its lack of fruit. What am I doing wrong, I would ask. Now that I’ve found my way into the Kingdom, I look back to understand .. how did I miss it? Answer – I was looking in the wrong place. I was searching in the context of what I was doing; what I was receiving. I was focused on me. I labeled my self-help, as Christianity. It was no such thing.
Once I abandoned that approach and ran after God, he showed me. As I spoke to God honestly, I told Him how much I wanted to know Him. I told Him I wasn’t sure how to get to know him and He taught me. Everyday, little by little, more and more, He reveals Himself. I have no clue what I am doing but He has taken my hand and He walks with me.
John18:36 – Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world.”
Luke17:21 – nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”
John 3:3 – Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
The kingdom of Heaven is not of this world but it is here. Seek after God and it will be revealed to you. Thank you Lord.
